About the Author

Helen H. Campbell's creativity and imagination spring from her life experiences as a skilled horsewoman, public speaker, photographer, national and international traveler and art collector.

A key teacher in Helen's life has been her relationship with depression.  With the help of health professionals, she developed an ability to be the mistress of her moods.  When it came to writing this book, she felt inspired to include a positive message of hope for others who strive to overcome clinical depression.

Helen lives in Sedona, Arizona with her husband Dr. Dean Campbell.  Helen volunteers for the U. S. Forest Service through the non-profit organization, Friends of the Forest.  Her major and on-going contribution to the
Forest Service was to initiate, structure and see to its fruition
a volunteer mounted horse program for the Red Rock Ranger
District on the Coconino National Forest.  This activity is one
in which she continues to be active.

Helen also volunteers at Connections Equine Therapy in
Cornville, Ariz

Helen is involved in many aspects of volunteering in her
community. She served two terms on the Board of Directors
of her homeowners association and remains active on several committees. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Friends of the Forest and is a Past-President.  She also serves the Friends of the Forest in Sedona, Arizona as an "ambassador- at-large".  As such she has made many presentations to various national forests, associated federal agencies and local groups.  Through her ambassadorial efforts four similar "Friends" groups have been formed on four national forests.
